Giving us Mayo & Webster and salary relief in exchange for Deng and a 1st round pick.

This ballboy trade smells like BS, and you guys don't have anyone we'd want for Webster.
He has played very well for us, yet most of you don't seem to have a clue who he is, lol

The idea that he is 'un-athletic' is quite entertaining, it's nice to see that the Knicks board doesn't have a monopoly on clueless :)

please, knock off the personal attacks

One thing I've noticed with all these threads about potential SGs. The term "good defender" gets thrown around very liberally by advocates for a certain player.

Although it would be nice to add another shooter, unless the price is pretty low I don't know what the Bulls could offer to entice an already young team with better draft picks in hand. Maybe they can offer to kick in on Rubio's buyout.

Minnesota has 15 on the roster so all trades must send the same number of players to Chicago as Minnesota sends here. And Minnesota really doesn't have any min salary guys who they can trade (they theoretically could cut Sundata Gaines), so a trade becomes difficult.

I can't imagine the Wolves want Deng. Beasley and Johnson are small forwards.

I don't think Webster is better than Brewer and Korver. I also disagree he is a good defender.

(Note that along with most of the NBA and a few dead cats, he is better than Bogans.)

wow. calling "shens" on a random ballboy post with no sources?

thanks genius

a thread regarding the possible acquisition of Martell Webster should not be this long. shows hows desperate we are for a SG

No need to bait people with subtle barbs and insults

That's just it. Nobody has taken this seriously. With the parts that we could give up and the needs that we have, it wouldn't make sense for either team.

I get a trolling warning for the word clueless? Nice board, and way to treat a Chicago native, I'm out.

Well as long as "negotians" are on-going, we shall all be excited. :)

His agent, Arn Tellem, has a pretty lengthy lovefest style history with Bulls ownership. There are some folks around here who suggest that if Tellem is a players agent it at least gets their name in the conversation with Reinsdorf.

Now that you mention it, that does seem to be the case. Tellem's name seems to be frequently connected to the Bulls. Pretty much the same with Bill Duffy and the Wolves during the McHale era.

Since Webster is nobody, its an even trade.

Seriously though, he's been producing for Minny this year in the 8 games he's played.

Since this has James Johnson written all over it, and we wouldn't give up anything of actual value, I'm all about it.

Right. If he comes cheap, can be a significantly better version of Bogans, then it's gold. With that as well, he would likely become a more valuable trade asset than what we have at the moment as well.

Seriously, what did he expect to happen? He basically came in here and called the whole Bulls board morons and then went and cried (like the women in his avatar) about being scolded about it. Class.

As for this whole Webster idea. If the name Taj is even mentioned by Kahn, hang the damn phone up Gar. Martel's never impressed me and while he'll be an upgrade from Bogans, it's just not enough to give up anything of significance.

While Taj Gibson is a good player, I'm not sure why the Wolves would be targeting anyways, with Love, Darko, and Beasley on the roster there aren't many minutes left at the 4/5.

Cut it out. Both you and Vince Strong. This one's the friendly warning.

Pretty much. I don't think we'd give up Gibson in the first place. And since you already paid a steep price for Webster, no sense in dumping him.
