Harden will be an RFA in 2013/14 so if he decides to test the market and we amnesty Booz and only have Rose, Deng, Noah, Jimmy, Rookie contract, Rookie Contract we might just have the max to throw at him.

I got to believe OKC matches that. Here is my question though...what happens if more than one team offers the max to a RFA?

RFAs are next to impossible to get. Forget about Harden. We'll never get him, not worth the gamble.

Look towards the draft, move our bench for picks, and move Boozer for another bad contract. Keep the core of Thibs, Deng, Rose, Noah, and even Rip together. Sign Vets and use the MMLE after that to fill up our depth.

Gibson & even Asik are more important to me than Rip

People are too easily forgetting all those games Asik closed out

They'll also cost an estimated 16M combined.

We would really like to keep Asik and Gibson but if we can get good value for them, long term cap wise we should consider a move.

If we want to land a big this summer for Boozer, the only big I can think of is going to be Amare, Haywood, Bargnani, Lee, Gooden, Harrington, and worse scrubs. Straight up, moving Boozer for a Big means we'd get lesser value back. Adding assets would work if someone was available. I don't see anyone available. I have a feeling that if we moved Boozer + Assets for Amare, Amare would have the same problem Boozer is having and he wouldn't listen to Thibs.

I really don't see many options for moving Boozer right now. Maybe in the future, but for now I honestly believe we're stuck with Boozer for at least one more season.

Basically if we can't figure out how to make the core of Rose, Rip, Deng, Boozer, Noah work, we're probably not going to win a title until 2015 when Boozer, Deng and Rip have expired and we're ready to push for Love, Gordon, and the Rose Class. Maybe we'll get lucky in the Draft but besides that we're kinda stuck right now. Our bench which I know we are like very much is in my opinion vastly overrated offensively and outside of Korver we really don't have a lights out shooter. I think we blossomed a little bit in the regular season because Watson was playing well. Now he has comeback down to earth and I'm concerned that he could be the main reason we don't advance to the 2nd Round.

Boogy what about moving Boozer for a lesser scoring PF like Gooden and get other assets back like Mike Dunleavy Jr(who would essentially replace Korver and allow us to use that unguaranteed for something else) and/or Shaun Livingston(who can play alongside Rose when he gets back).

I'd rather just keep Boozer wouldn't you. Gooden is awful, arguably the worst defender in the league. I really don't want him back here.

only team that would take Boozer is probably phoenix where we'd basically take back 2 bad contracts (Frye, Childress?) that equal boozers, but then it would be easier to move those later on.

Let's be real, nobody wants Boozer. Amnesty or keep him.

Boozer's contract expires the summer of 2015 when Kevin Love could be unrestricted and when LaMarcus Aldridge will be unrestricted. The Bulls if they play their cards right could also have a ton of money free that offseason, especially if Deng re-signs the year before to a cheaper salary than his ending salary on his current contract.

Amenstying Boozer anytime before then really makes no sense. There aren't any better PF's available. We'd be better suited:

1. Trading him for a player equally as productive, whose contract doesn't extend past 2015.
2. Keeping him and letting his contract expire in time for us to retool for a 2nd build around Rose.

Also 2015 is also a great projection time for Mirotic to come over and it's when the Bobcats pick is only Top-8 protected. I"m still rooting for the 2015 plan. It's three years away, but most of the pieces right now are in place.

The Hawks could legitimately lose Josh Smith this off-season..I would jump in and be players on that, because IMO the Josh Smith that showed up these last 2 seasons is an upgrade over Boozer.. and TBH, I'll take Smith or Horford and try to formulate a deal with Atlanta for one of those two

You never know which Josh is going to show up. His numbers have been up without Horford in the lineup. Doesn't really strike me as a Bulls player.

This is true but to be fair, he's never had the opportunity to play next to an MVP, a potentially hall of fame coach, and a team that is defense 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. He would be held accountable here to perform. Also, his defense is just outstanding..and at the end of the day he matches up better with Miami than Boozer does, IMO the matchup with miami is all that matters at this point.

I also believe he has more reasonable contract than Boozer

Would like Smith. A deal could be done but we're going to have to give them something with Boozer to get Smith and get fillers as well (Hinrich, Marvin Williams etc.) What they really want is a Center and I'm sure they'd like Gibson or Asik.
