Around the NBA VII: Shortened Season Edition

Harden on the Bulls would just not be fair for the rest of the league.

Luckily Presti is locking him up before he hits RFA.

As an OKC fan, I'm glad we have Harden.

Presti could want Harden all he wants, but can they afford to sign him to a max contract? Considering OKC is a small market, with Serge contract coming up also.

Don't get me wrong, Presti has done a great job but they have tough decisions ahead.
Why so serious?

Trade Ibaka, keep Harden, easy enough imo.

That means that okc will have 3 max players under contract. In the next few years that is no big deal but eventually the thunder will have 3 players making close to 60 million combined. That could get tricky.

But if they are willing to pay then no worries.

Im thinking he is, if you're playing him off the bench he isn't, but starter minutes with that kind of play? He'll get the max in a second.

On a offtopic note, watching the Chelsea-Barca game last night a detail caught my eye. Corner kick for Barcelona and Puyol and Terry are in a duel. Puyol shows to Terry that he has a hand injury and Terry responds with grabing Puyols hand, just like LeBron and co. did to Deng with his wrist injuries.

What are your guys toughts on that? Im thinking Terry should have been yellow carded for that, and any other Heat player caught for that should get a tech or a foul called. But the chances of being caught are too slim. :-?

Give me Harden any day of the week probably over any other 2 in the league. This guy is the perfect SG and the Thunder's best playmaker. Reminds me a lot of Ginobili. They're games are almost exactly the same.

No, he really wouldn't.

Harden isnt even worth Boozer money.

He is a great player with a heap of potential, but lets not get carried away here...

How many shooting guards would you take over Harden? Kobe, Wade, and then who? And both those guys are a bit long in the tooth. Eric Gordon maybe. Steph Curry has weak ankles and is pretty much a pg. Maybe Kevin Martin. In my worthless opinion, at worst Harden would be 4th best shooting guard for our team.
Harden is definitely worth Boozer money.
Harden would be an amazing addition to the Bulls.

Max money for Harden? I don't know. On one hand, he's made superstar like increases each year in advanced stats, and he has a complete all-around game. And he's not even 23 yet. He seems like the perfect sidekick. Reminds me of Brandon Roy.

On the other hand, you already have max dollars locked up in two really good perimeter players. Do you really need another one? You gotta balance your core out and Ibaka is arguably the best shot blocker in the league and the Thunder can't further risk downgrading a defense that's only 18th in opp. PPG right now.

He is a max contract player because plenty of teams will offer him max contract. Many players around the league don't deserve their contract but it's not about that, it's about need.

A team like the Spurs would definitely offer him max. They could use his versatility, they get younger and a player that will stick around for the next 4-6 years, and not to mention they make Oklahoma weaker.

Pretty sure Duncan is an expiring this year so they will definitely have money freed up.

So who is better? Westbrooke or Harden?............I will take Harden all day.As others here mentioned, the cat has a old man game,it's so smooth. His game is based on cleverness and guile,so he is gonna be in the league for a long time and highly productive.

Wiretap reporting Ray maybe not as ok with being benched as was thought/reported...

Ray Allen has privately felt slighted by the Celtics over the past few weeks.

Allen was nearly traded to Memphis at the deadline and he has played a bench role since returning from injury following the emergence of Avery Bradley.

Allen will be a free agent this offseason and his odds of returning to the Celtics have diminished, according to the Boston Globe.

Boy I would love to get Ray Allen move Rip Hamilton to play off the bench(He better be willing to play off the bench.) you get two guys can run without the ball through screens, and the defenders going to be very busy chasing them.

Isn't the new CBA that there is two MLE types one for teams who are under lux tax which is $5 mil, and other is a Mini type of Expetation which is $3 mil for teams who is over the lux tax correct, or am I wrong?
Mark my words Kevin Love will be a Chicago Bulls later down the road!
