Important: New Policy On So-Called "Insider Sources"

Postby Howard Mass on Thu Jun 28, 2012 6:59 am

Chicago Bulls Forum Users,

It was recently brought to our attention that a poster claiming to have inside sources was simply contacting beat writers, other posters, and publicly accessible Twitter accounts for his inside information. That poster is no longer allowed to post "insider information". Since this type of information is easily accessible to anyone, it should not be categorized as privileged information as this is misleading to other posters.

If you are gathering information in that type of manner you are required to cite the person or website you have received this information from and cannot advertise it as "inside information".

There have also been cases of users posting fake tweets from journalists and this is also unacceptable.

When a user tries to rile up everyone with false insider information of any kind, I consider it to be "Derailing Discussion".

This will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disciplinary action.
