Need to move Carlos Boozer before we even get the chance to make yet another mistake in the 2014 NBA Free Agency. Problem is, Carlos Boozer is pretty much untradeable at this point.

At this point, I wouldn't even look at max cap space. I'd look at making deals using the TPE etc.

In 2013
Use TPE Next Year
Use MMLE Next Year
Trade Rip
One More Year With These Group of Guys

In 2014
Amnesty Boozer
Extend Deng
Extend Hinrich
Use Full MLE

Keep trying to make a blockbuster trade rather than gamble in free agency adding cheap young contracts which we deal later for assets back (Not moving Watson/Brewer for something back = Bad Idea)

Problem is I don't see the Bulls going this route and I don't think Jerry wants to spend $16m on a Boozer Amnesty either. The Bulls true plan is still unclear.

Deng should be resigned if he is willing to take about $8 million per year.

Most of the shooting guards are either too old or restricted free agents. I'd consider Thabo Sefolosha for his defense and JR Smith for his scoring.

Sweet, another opportunity for Jason Goff to say D-Wade and Bosh to Chicago is imminent.

Deng will only be 29. I could see some team offering a high paid 2 or 3 year deal for him. Bulls could strike out all around in 2014 losing Deng and getting little back. Best to extend Deng now that they have fully decided to keep him.

It really is depressing when none of the players the Bulls pick up in free agency ever have value. Watson, Brewer, Korver, Boozer, Rip, etc. We always strike out. Draft has always been our best area. Bulls focus should still be there acquiring picks through trade.

Bulls have moved on with both guys. I think our shooting guards should be focused on next offseason. Use the TPE/MMLE to land Brandon Rush, Tyreke Evans, O.J. Mayo, J.J. Redick, Gerald Henderon, or Anthony Morrow, skip the entire 2014 Free Agency and use the Amnesty on Boozer in 2014 to get Jerry under the tax again making room for Mirotic off the bench.

I don't think Thabo played badly for the Bulls. He was a young player and was never given much of an opportunity. He has improved a lot since then. He is one of the better defenders in league and his shooting has improved a lot.

I agree that the Bulls should try to acquire a shooting guard next year instead of 2014.

I hope we can at least see results with Marco Belinelli otherwise I think the Bulls trade him and pick up J.J. Redick or Anthony Morrow next year. I fully expect the Bulls to focus on at least 1 shooter in the backcourt and if Jimmy Butler does indeed step up this year, then the backup shooting guard spot will remain a spot where the shooter plays minutes.

I have doubts with Rip though and believe the Bulls look at Brandon Rush or Tyreke Evans next year to replace him. Evans isn't a great defender but has tools to improve. Don't see us getting Evans either though.

At this point, I am ruling out the Bulls ever getting a "star" shooting guard in the backcourt until 2015-2016 at the earliest. Best bet is to upgrade our PF Spot but don't see that being done either.

I looked it up and you're right, Boozer did have a charge last year. But I sure as hell don't remember it. I'm going to need video evidence to believe it.

On a related note, I was surprised to see that Taj only had 2 last year. He should work on that...will probably help keep him out of foul trouble.

That's because Taj is to busy stuffing the guy shot instead of taking a charge.

Yeah Kobe is declining fast. He if anything will stay in LA. He has sooooo many miles oh him since 18 I can't see him getting money from anyone in 14. He might get one more decent deal after this one but I don't see him leaving LA unless he ends up hating Dwight (possible). Still at. That point he would be nothing more than an upgraded Rip. Kobe isn't going to be the best player on his team this year imagine paying him in 2 years? Just take TMac now if that is the plan.

I take Kobe in two, or three years for a cheap deal but other then that I agree he is declining so I wouldn't give him a good deal. I doubt he'll leave LA either he stay, or retire, I think he'll play in a few more years regardless what he say.

I refuse to play along w/ the Bulls management idea of, "Wait until year ____ and we will be players."

I've said before that I wasn't a huge fan of the 2014 plan for the reasons already stated - it's mostly past-prime guys and guys who have passed on us in the past.

I think Cousins is by far the best target we could have for 2014(I'm conceding that we aren't getting LeBron/Wade/Bosh/Melo, and that Indiana isn't letting George go).

The best free agents available in 2015 will be a 27 year old Kevin Love(if he exercises his ETO) and a 30 year old LaMarcus Aldridge.

The best free agents available in 2016 will be a 28 year old Kevin Durant and a 29 year old Al Horford.

It seems to me that, assuming Durant stays in OKC - and barring a total collapse there, I don't see him leaving - Love is far and away the best FA we could hope to acquire between now and 2016, followed by Cousins.

There are two ways to acquire him:

1. Don't blow the cap space in 2014, sign one-year deals, preserve the space for 2015, and make him the pitch.

2. Hope the Wolves suck between now and 2015, and that Love requests a trade, and put together the best possible package you can offer for him.

I'm assuming most of you would prefer option #2, because it allows us to keep acquiring talent and trying to be good in the meantime.

I hope the FO is thinking along the same lines and that their current plan A isn't really old Kobe/Dirk/Gasol or another stab at LeBron.

****, I wanted to trade up and draft Paul George,

and I still want Paul George on our squad. He will be an excellent player for many years.

Unfortunately, he's going to be overpaid. The future looks bleak unless we're willing to pay.

Would be fine with the Bulls using the TPE and MMLE next year, then in 2014 using the Amnesty on Boozer just to cut back if that opens up the MMLE or MLE for 2014. Extend Deng now.

First, it was a joke. Second, if we did land Kobe and Pau the bulls would win 2 or 3 titles
