I am saddened to hear that. Being that this is a online forum you really only identify posters by their sigs and text. You really can't assume anything in terms of health and age.

Exactly right. One of the great things about that he was that he was always himself, and you knew when you read his posts exactly who wrote them. Sad news.

Godspeed George.

That's very sad to hear. Even though we personally don't know him...once you are in a forum like this, you feel like you have known him. His knowledge of Bulls trivia was always a good asset to a discussion in clearing up questions which might have derailed the thread.

Oh my God. This is shocking news. I loved Tommy Udo. Really devastating news. Those of us that have been here for many years (and newer posters as well) know him well.

This is a big loss. Really, really saddened to hear this. :(

Very sad news.

George/Tommy had been here so long and always provided a different sort of take on things. He will be well and truly missed, both on the boards and on the mod staff. RIP.

Here it is.

Tommy Udo wrote:

I remember that Deng talked to JR & said he made a mistake by not accepting extension. JR was pleased.

However, after the season, Deng got the original offer plus extras.

Ben Gordon, who did not apologize, got an even lower offer than the year prior.

George moderated the Bulls board for a long time, and cared about the health of the board greatly. Behind the scenes on the moderator board, he was very active in pursuing the best interests of the board so that the posting experience for all of us would be at its best.

He will obviously be missed around here and in the "real" world as well, I'm certain.

I am shocked;

While I didn't know him personally, I always appreciated his knowledge and his willingness to always reply when question were had.

He was a great poster, a great mod, and will be greatly missed.

Hopefully he has found peace.

Extremely sad news.

I only talked with him a few times via PM but he always stuck out as one of the best people on RealGM.

I have decided to change my avatar in tribute to him until the end of September.

I hope others will do the same.

Man, I don't know how I missed this thread until now - guess I gloss over the stickies.

George was a first rate guy in the many years I've been writing back and forth with him on this board. I'll really miss him. He brought so much perspective, and it wasn't just because he was "old" but because he really paid attention to detail and looked beneath the surface of things - a great historian.

Rest in peace, George.
