Who does Doug McDermott compare to?

I've seen people get slammed here for the Korver comparison. So in your honest opinion, who does McDermott remind you of?

I hope he turns out to be Larry Bird lite but in the near term I think Paul Pierce is a valid comparison.

People often misjudge doug due to his color.

I guess the Dirk comparisons come because he has that Dirk stepback-one-foot-jumper. But Dirk is bigger and quicker than McDermott, and better at just about everything. I mean Dirk is a franchise talent.

EDIT: Pierce isn't a bad comparison, actually.

I don't see Korver or Redick at all. Redick is a 6'4" guard. McDermott is a 6'8" SF/PF tweener.

His college career is so similar to Redick and he is the same size and lacks the same quickness Korver does.

Pierce is/was a much better ball handler and playmaker than McBuckets. I'd go old school and compare him to Dennis Scott. People forget how unstoppable a scorer Scott was in college, much more than just a shooter, same as Dougy.

Paul Pierce, that is interesting.

Though not as good as Pierce of course. Pierce always had just enough athleticism to not get in the way of his skill. Not sure McDermott does.

I wouldn't either, but the consensus here believes he's a much better player than both of those guys, so I'm ready to hear the comparisons and what we should expect from McBuckets.
