It's probably a matter of time before he ends up working for one of these teams.

Another puff piece on one of the media's darlings. Wait till you blow out a finger typing out "erroneously," and have to sit out a couple of issues. They'll all turn on you.

That quote by Larry Coon made my day. Deeks is comin' up.
Step 1: instead of "ass" say "buns." Like "kiss my buns" or "you're a buns-hole."

Nice article, thanks for sharing.
Sham, congratulations on your ever-increasing fame and notoriety for coming up through the ranks of the interwebs...I wish you continued success. It's been fun watching from the sidelines, and seems like you are on the path to becoming a RealGM!

What ? No mention of his highly successful run on Countdown ?
TGibson (1/28/17); "..."a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 for drama"...What's the worst? "...yelling matches with Thibs, everybody is just going crazy and I'm just sitting there...like, 'Don't call my name please..."

deeks is a really fun writer/entertainer in the mold of a bill simmons that also found a niche with cba contracts...not sure how he found out what these guys were making down to the dollar but it made it appear that he had more info than anyone else on NBA contracts...and with the CBA and hard cap playing a more prominent role in the nba in general over the last 10 years...this was a really beneficial niche to have...smart play on his part...then with that info...down to the dollar he was able to deduce who would be paying the tax and by how much...who would likely be on the trade block, etc...with that he made some really astute predictions along the way like waiving of some non-guaranteeds...etc...combined with his witty writing style all made him sound like a genius as well as a cool guy...its my understanding he was on the fence several times for several years as to join the real world and get a real job or do this...he mostly stuck it out it seems and turned it into a real job...very well deserved recognition.

Come on, Gar/Pax, hurry up and sign Sham so we can include his contract in the Kevin Love deal.

Great article. The story does not say if Duncan sent flowers or a box of chocolate for the $300k+ that were added to his contract

That was truly nasty. He needs a nba job so a trainer can go to work on that fungus.

I liked it when he gave updates on ex-NBA players barely anyone remembered. Reminds me of the comedian who used to do impressions of guys like James Spader and Danny Aiello. Good times.

And long live Devin Brown, Rick Brunson, and Luther Head(for pap.)

As a semi-retired Chicago sports nut, I listen to a lot of The Score sportstalk radio. Hosts Dan Bernstein and Matt Spiegel quote Deeks's tweets regularly and with obvious respect. Now this great Grantland feature.

Good on ya, young man.

Best_International_Newcomer growing up before our eyes!

Can't wait till he gets a front office job.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

The Rise of Sham should be a documentary.

This is the best news I have heard all week. Hard work and determination pay off kids... This is just fantastic news.

Congrats on the exposure!

As a european NBA fan I have to say that there is certain value about waking up in the middle of the night and watching a game. I almost can't imagine for NBA to be something like Champions League in football (or soccer) starting at 8:45 pm. I just love that there is no disturbance when I'm watching a game.
