Every team has a position they would like to improve on. Pretty much every good team. I do think our wing position, partially due to the improvement elsewhere, can be average. Having Derrick alone will make that player a better player.
The HUGE variable for our success this year is Rose's ability to play well and play a majority of the season. If he does both I don't think we'll be whining about wing play nearly as much.
MJD, Jimmy and McD can man that spot I am fairly sure, even Niko might get some minutes there on offense.

Butler and Dunleavy Jr. was worst starting offensive wing tandem in the league last year statistically. Going to take McDermott being an instant high level contributor to put that ranking anywhere near average.

burlydee wrote:Its rare that I'm one of the more optimistic fan about a season but so be it. Some of you see problems, I only see opportunity. Sure, there will be a minutes crunch in the front court and need on the wing. But up and down the lineup the Bull are better than they were last year.
At pg - Rose/Hinrich/Brooks > Hinrich/Agustin
At wing - Butler/McBuckets/MDJ/Snell > Butler/MDJ/Kirk
Bigs Noah/Gasol/Taj/Niko > Noah/Taj/Boozer
This team could use an all around wing player, but maybe Butler or Dougie can grow into that. This is the best Bulls team since 2010-11 and if Rose can stay healthy and the pieces come together offensively, this team has a higher upside. The Bulls will make a decision on Niko/Taj/Gasol next summer, after they've had a full year to evaluate. Right now, I say sit back and enjoy one of the top 3 frontcourts in the NBA.

Three kids means very little posting time for this sad (and tired) Gorilla. Hoping to devote more time and energy once the pre-season kicks off.

Everything I've ever been told about children/child raising is that once you get to three, you basically have everything you need from previous kids so you're really only raising one kid (the oldest) and the youngest are just falling in line.

If my children were a little more spread out in age I could see this being true once they were all out of diapers. But the two youngest - I've got a 2 year old and 10 month old - 'aint raising themselves...

Plus I'm sure the Melodrama drained a lot of your off-season energy.
