The Ascent of Joakim Noah

Post#1 » by PaKii94 » Wed Oct 15, 2014 5:30 pm

We have a thread on Derrick's ESPN article further down, I thought our other star deserved another thread:

http://grantland.com/features/joakim-noah-chicago-bulls-nba-florida-gators-ncaa-championship-derrick-rose/

I can see what the bull's spotted in him. It seems like Jo has been the same type of player all throughout his life.

A boom box accompanied Noah everywhere he went on the University of Florida campus. “No headphones, no nothing, [just] blasting music,” said teammate Chris Richard.

Bringing energy all around 8-)

Unfortunately, I always got stuck rebounding for him and Brewer, so it was a workout,” recalled Larry Shyatt, an assistant coach.

In case anyone thought I could be picking and choosing, I don't think this article is that great either. I'll bet there's limited mention of Noah continually coming into the season out of shape, his rookie year suspension, or the fact he's been severely injured four of the last five post seasons.

KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

“And Duke was calling,” McNally said, “but he didn’t really see himself as a Dukie.”

Whilst i will concede that I completely agree, I find the article to be a little more tolerable then the D.Rose one because I don't have to read Reggie or BJ nor do I have to read about what a different "person" said named player is.

Speaking of eating, Joa’s appetite is heroic. His co-captain, Derrik Rose, once detailed, in wide-eyed wonderment, a single meal Joa put away.

“I saw the man eat chicken breast, three pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, chicken sausage, syrup ketchup, mayonnaise, all together on one plate,” he said. “This was not a dare. This was in the morning. This was one meal. Oh, and string beans! He said that when it’s in your mouth it’s going to be all put together just the same.”

What’s worse: Florida hurricanes or Chicago winters?

Chicago winters. I never go outside.

lol

What’s the most pissed off he’s ever been at you?

He gets pissed off a LOT. But he never makes any clash we have public, and he calms me down a lot as well. He knows when to let me vent.

Thibs, the Anti-Skiles (think I've said that before)

Thanks for sharing, good read. Noah would be my favourite Bull to hang out with.
