OK, some actual substance. I don't have a real issue with the Bulls refusing to pay the tax to keep Eddy Curry or Ben Gordon. Those were not bad decisions. They paid the tax in 2013 and they're paying it this season. So not now, not ever, except for when they do.

I'm willing to bet they don't pay it this season. If they salary dump Taj to avoid the tax, will you still believe they will pay it in the future?

Yes. Unless you think they're so inept that they accidentally paid it without realizing that it was going to happen a couple of years ago.

Green is probably either staying with PHO or going to Boston, that’s the only Gerald Green FA rumor I’ve read. There’s no way Green should take $3M when guys like Cory Joseph are getting $7.5M per year.

This would be hard even if they tried. There won't be many (any?) teams with the cap space or unguaranteed contracts.

If all options are dried up then why would he turn down 3mil? Maybe he won't get signed by us, but its still a possibility and not every player thinks about what others are making some players want to be on a team for different reasons other than money.

Green is a bit of a hot head and a streaky shooter. I really don't think he's a hot commodity. A solid wing player, but if I had to guess Alan Anderson is more valued than Gerald Green amongst GMs.

Philly always has capspace for these type of deals. Utah too. It will happen.

Philly only accepts dumps if they get a draft pick. Bulls don't give away draft picks to dump salary.

Yes, it was accidental. They couldn't dump Hamilton.

Bulls should offer Noah to Clippers for Stephenson. Clippers need a big man in the worst way. Stephenson would help. Both are injury concerns and who knows the Clips may bite.

Ben Gordon might be a nice target. He hasn't been on a good team that needs just bench scoring. After seeing how free agency is playing out he isn't a bad choice

Can we do a sign and trade for green? I think taj is much more valuable but since I believe we are going to trade him to cut costs anyway I'm starting to explore lower value options

Something must be wrong with Gerald Green if no team is signing him

They did exactly that to get rid of Hinrich.

That was to clear space to sign someone. Not get out of the tax.

Well you didn't write that caveat.

That was what the discussion was about originally.
