PG: Bulls v Nugs

Post#1 » by Rerisen » Fri Oct 9, 2015 3:24 am

Forgettable game.

It may have some redeeming value if Hoiberg has at least learned that Moore should be ahead of Kirk in the rotation. Not that it makes a huge difference.

Tony isn't showing the progress I'd hoped to see yet.

Noah so far looks all talk, doing nothing to deserve a starting spot at this early juncture.

The team isn't looking like it has much quality depth, keeping everyone healthy is going to be paramount to having a great regular season. And that's a scary thought based on our history.

First time I sensed a little frustration in Butler. As a new leader on the team, he is going to have to be careful about trying to do it himself when things are going bad, took several questionable shots there in the 1st half.

Niko and Doug were the two best players tonight. Portis continues to impress.

Doug and Niko were the best players out there. Portis continues to bring the energy.

I didn't like the way Jimmy played as a whole. Outside of some nice play making in the 1st qtr, he forced shots and broke the offense going iso too often.

Jan/Feb 2015 Tony Snell, please come back.

Think our starting lineup will be Rose, Jimmy, McD, Taj and Pau.

This lineup won't start, but I'm very interested in seeing a Rose, Jimmy, McD, Niko and Taj lineup.

Pleased with what I saw fom Niko, Dougie and Portis. Jimmy had an off night, took some bad shots, still learning the offense. He's a stud though, no worries with him. I don't see how anyone can justify Jo starting once Pau and Taj return. And I really wish we could upgrade the backup PG spot. Get healthy Derrick, Pau and Taj.

Our backup PG's suck. Jordan Crawford looks to be the best of the bunch so far.

Niko looks good. Doug looks better. Portis impressive.

Tony hasn't seemed to improve at all. Noah continuing to decline.

Pretty sad when all you can say about it is that Bobby Boucher is a beast on the boards and we really needed that.... Jordan Crawford might actually be better than Aaron Brooks, which kind of makes me want to vomit.... Kirk may be done as an NBA player.... Really worried about Jo ever getting back.... Doug is clearly winning the starting SF spot.... Niko looks good..... at this point I would put Jo behind Pau, Taj, Niko and Bobby in the big rotation and maybe even behind Cam.

I really hope Pau comes back for the next game. I honestly don't think I can take another minute of Cam Bairstow. I don't know how he's even on an NBA roster, it's ridiculous. He does absolutely nothing well.

Hard to draw any conclusions from a game at 5200 feet where we play once a season, to be honest. If Kirk continues to make the offense look like Thibs' offense, then yeah bench his ass for good.

Garbage time or 3rd stringers or not, im still impressed that Portis had 8/14 followed by a 10/16 game. And he still is shooting like crap.

All I can say is, Fred can have the freedom to sit Noah or Taj or Pau and know he can go to someone else and not wet the bed. He will still struggle with mistakes or get lost on defense, but put that guy in the fast lane before next season.

Doug looks like a leader on offense. I saw him pointing to spots on the floor for teammates on many possessions, even when we was just the corner shooter.

If Noah keeps going like this and can't pull it together, will be looking like another win for Cowley.

Because if he *doesn't* have a chronic knee condition there is really no reason he should have a slow start again, when he's talked up how much he worked out in the offseason and how great he felt coming into camp.

Still holding out hope that Niko can show a better 3 ball. Really need him to get there.

Bobby, Doug, and Niko all looked very good out there. ET looked decent for a stretch there.

Kirk and Bairstow are not NBA players. Snell might not be either -- which is weird, since he's clearly talented enough. He can shoot, he's athletic, he just has no awareness of what to do when he's not wide open. He needs to watch some film of Ronnie Brewer or Luol Deng moving without the ball, he's a better shooter than both of them but they were able to make careers out of moving without the ball on offense (while playing great defense).

I'm not writing Snell off yet. He might just be slow at figuring out the new system and where people are supposed to be. But this is make it or break it time for him.
