NBA Rumors: Jeremy Lin will join the Chicago Bulls next season

Post#1 » by kulaz3000 » Mon May 2, 2016 11:51 pm

NBA rumors are now swirling with Jeremy Lin who will be joining the Chicago Bulls next season after the disappointing loss of the Charlotte Hornets in Game 7 of their playoff series against the Miami Heat.

Based on a previous report, Lin signed a two-year deal worth $4.374 million with the Hornets before the start of the 2015-16 season and he has a “player option for the 2016-17 season. This means that there is a possibility that Lin could explore the free agency market and search for a team where can be maximized and used properly.

He'd easily be the best backup PG we've had in forever. I love it. And if Rose goes down again, not a bad starter to have.

Rumors swirling from where? And what's this website?

That said, could totally believe it. We were interested in him last season. I love Lin. I think he's incredibly underrated, is much grittier than he's given credit for, and I think he could be someone that you could really lock into a nice value contract.

I'd like Lin but I also don't think the offer has any clue what he is talking about.

This looks completely unsubstantiated to me,not just because of the lack of real source but because Lin himself said yesterday he loves Charlotte, wants to return and would take a paycut to do so.

That said, I'll leave the thread open for the moment. Lin would be an awesome backup, and was a steal for Charlotte.

If you can get Lin for a good value contract you should absolutely do it, but I think we should be careful in general with overpaying for role players (this include Harrison Barnes). To Gar's credit, he's done a pretty solid job of finding cheap role player (Robinson, Augustin, Felicio, Moore, etc.) Each year, you see quality bench guys get signed for cheap. I mean we could probably assemble a bench made up of guys like DJ, Matt Barnes, Brandon Bass, Brandon Wright, etc. for about $10 mill and still have one of the most productive benches in the league.

Just for the record, I'm talking about historically signing those type of players not currently, although I still do like all of those players.

I'd call a Lin/Batum summer a big win for the Bulls. I'd definitely prefer Lin to Noah if there was a $ choice to be made.

Seems like a clickbait article. Even though I would enjoy him as a 22mpg type player for us.

Lin would be a good backup PG but there's no way we should be focusing on that.

Priority #1 should be a two way SF who can shoot

Priority #2 should probably be Noah

Priority #3 should be backup PG

Who is that SF though? It's slim pickings.

This would be a great spot for him and I was hoping we'd go after him last summer, guaranteed 15-20+ starts and he should see time at SG as well.
