I think folks are overlooking Hendricks, he pitched a great game his last time out except that one mistake early. But kershaw is a beast, will be a intense game.

I think one way or another Cubs clinch next game.

I think the bats have woken up and they aren't going to go away now. But we will see what happens.

Good call.

A couple of things here. Under no circumstances do you sit Russell at this point. He's swinging as hot a bat as anybody and he's a righty. You could move KB to first, Baez to third, move Zobrist in to second and keep Russell at short. Zobrist is a switch so you can keep him in and not lose much in the way of defense. In the outfield you could go Contreras in left, Fowler in center and Soler into right...he's due. That gives you all rightys to combat the lefty.

So far as Kershaw goes, there's no doubt that he's the best in the game. One of the reasons he's so good is that he goes right after guys with his stuff and throws a lot of strikes. That's why his walk rate is so low. He isn't the type of pitcher that you can sit back on and take a lot of pitches. You'll be down 0-2 in a blink of an eye, which allows him to make short work of hitters. By going after him and his pitches early in the count, it will force him to think twice about throwing everything in the zone. This is where you might be able to get him that good out of the zone and work some counts against him. If you go back to game two, you'll see that the best swings that we had against him were when we went early in the count rather than waiting in him to throw balls. It may result in him slashing through the order the first time around. But it could present opportunities the second and third time through the order. We just have to be patient and lean on our pitching until we can get him where we want him. It's no coincidence that the teams that have had the best luck against him have typically gotten to him in the later innings. Hell, it almost happened in game 2.

I think we need Almora to play right, get Heyward out of there. Play Zobrist at left, play Contreras at C and we'll have a shot at mustering a couple runs.

Hendricks should be able to hold his own and if anything we can put Montgomery in if he doesn't last that long.

I said it on other sites but if the Cubs win game 5 (which they did) they are going to beat Clayton Kershaw. So half the job is done, now let's finish this. I want Adrian Gonzalez thinking of that instant replay all off season.

It would be interesting to see a stat on how pitchers fare in their 2nd game of a playoff series. My "feeling" is not usually as well as they did in their first game, but that is just a perception i have from my memories. I don't have any data to back it up.

Well are they choking or is there a curse? Let's pick a lane.

Good night.

The curse will cause them to choke.

You were wrong.

Nothing will be better than the 2005 White Sox though.
