And...right after I just got done **** talking the FO in another thead...

Props to them. I believe Lopez is underrated and even if not he's definitely much more of an asset than Rose at this point. By getting Calderon we got someone who could both man the PG spot if needed and groom whatever burgeoning PG we choose to draft.

Now we just need to get Jerami from Philly and it's on like Donkey Kong.

I like Lopez's fit as a defensive/rebounding big that won't need a lot of touches. Jerian Grant is a young point guard Bulls can get a look at. Calderon is trash, but at least he's bigger than Brooks.

I'm still hopeful Rose becomes a really good player again, but if management didn't intend to re-sign him, now was the time to trade him I feel. Holiday was OK last year, but he was never going to be an important piece. Second rounders don't really matter, but still a bit unhappy we had to add one.

Not sure it's a good trade for either team, but we get to retool and the Knicks can try to make a last run with Carmelo.

They gave him away.

Well, the board got their wish.

Check out the reaction on the Knicks board. Let's just say they're not thrilled.

I was probably leaning towards the Team TradeRose over the past few days, but this is still stunning.

I hope you guys are happy now. Lopez, Grant, and Calderon. No future picks. LOL.

WOW!

Image

This is what I called last week when this started to be talked about:

Maybe Calderon, Grant, and a pick? Calderon actually fits decently next to Jimmy and is expiring as well. He is a good shooter and passer. Doesn't turn the ball over. He can't play defense sure, but platooning him with Moore, while not ideal, could work imo especially with a shot blocker (Biyombo!!!) in the paint.

Lopez can be that shot blocker. This is a monumental day as a Bulls fan. An end of era for sure.

The Bulls will send Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 second rounder to the Knicks for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon.

weren't going to get a first rounder for rose, only thing I hate about this trade is having to include the 2nd rounder
