That being said he didn't really clarify about "it had to be one of us" meant, and is kinda troubling that he doesn't know if he'll be on the Bulls by the end of the season.

No, no! Jimmy said it had to be one of them because he was looking out for team chemistry and for Fred!!!

Jimmy handled himself incredibly well on Colin's show.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Jimmy's going to recruit at Team USA, or at least make some friends.

This sounds like a positive step.

Jimmy is just a naturally charismatic guy. Him making friends is easy for him.

Maybe he does get friendly enough with KD. A man can dream.

Butler also name drops Kyrie Irving as one guy he would like to play with and says he's a friend of his. And as we all know Kyrie said he wants to play with 1 on 1 with Jimmy everyday during the Olympics. Didn't realize these guys were that close.

This is the biggest reason why the Bulls should keep and build around butler. He seems to have many friends around the league and would be a great recruiter. If they hope to score any free agents this summer or next, he would be their best pitch man.

Am I the only one that thought Jimmy missed a prime opportunity when they asked him "Who do you wanna call?" Cuz I was singing "ghost-bustersss!!"

A lot of pressure on him now honestly, a hell of a lot.

I think Jimmy cared more about Rose being terrible all around and not going all out and giving up his body for the team than simply being a black dominant point guard. If he was deserving of the rock because of his performance than I doubt JB would have cared but it was the opposite.

I think he wanted to win basketball games, and the way Rose played last season they weren't going to.

It really is a shame Derrick had to be a causality for missing the post season, but without him I think Jimmy can take it up 1 more level. Maybe they could have figured it out, maybe not, but it wasn't gonna happen with Hoiberg and things have to change when you miss the playoffs with Rose/Butler/Pau on your roster. Hopefully the Bulls don't waste his prime and he stays here long term.

I have confidence that we can build a solid team around Jimmy.

Robin is a solid big man/replacement for Noah, Dougie is getting getting better, Niko should be better, hopefully Grant can show promise (I think he can)....

Jimmy shouldn't be playing with a bunch of scrubs next season.

This was a very unfortunate quote from Jimmy. No need to say it, and it just corroborates the talk about the power struggle between him and Derrick. It's the quote that all the media is highlighting from his interviews. Not good.

It may well be the truth, but he certainly did not have to say it. In fact, the question he was asked was what was his reaction when he heard about the Rose trade. He could have said any number of things and not lied. Instead, he chose to make the point that he was not surprised, because "one of us had to go." That's the quote that Friedell is highlighting on his Twitter account as well. I imagine that we will have several articles about the quote now. And then Derrick will be asked about Jimmy's quote. All as we head into FA. We could do without this conflict being highlighted right now.

It's not a big deal because we are not planning on being big players in FA. But still. More unnecessary damage to the franchise's image, Jimmy essentially saying that he and Derrick could not co-exist.
