Re: Ben Gordon looking for NBA Comeback
He just sees these huge contracts getting tossed around and wants in.
If he put in the effort THEN that he''s gonna have to now, he'd be on a near max deal with someone.
If he played defense, was 2 inches taller and could dunk consistently, he'd probably have his jersey hanging in the UC in a few years.
This dude was Steph Curry before there was such as thing as a Steph Curry.
Should be a great 3 point weapon off the bench for someone. Have your agent call the Knicks.

Pax have moved on completely. I don't see any member of that Bulls team returning. Although I can see Kirk returning for a coaching gig. I don't think Deng will stick around as well, I think Deng is more loyal to Thibs than the Bulls organization. Ben Gordon, I never had the feeling that he really cared about playing for this franchise, he's always about Ben Gordon.

Once he left us he went downhill he was greedy and wanted out when he wasn't the highest paid player on the team.

I'm ok with that. At least for a pre-season look.

I chortle at the notion that Ben Gordon could earn even 10 seconds of Denzel Valentine's playing time.

Re: Ben Gordon looking for NBA Comeback
My problem with Ben is that he dribbles the ball more than I'd like from an end of bench, spot up shooter. Even while he was a roleplayer in ORL, only 43% of his shots were assisted. To put that into perspective, Jimmy Butler was more assisted (47.9%) than Gordon in Orlando.
He's never had the height of the prototypical marksmen SG like Korver, Klay, Rip, Reggie Miller etc.. so his MO has always been to receive the ball and then dribble to try & get clear and then shoot. And often times he has to arc mortar shots over defenders, he's just very good at it.
Even at the height of his career in Chicago, Ben's shots were usually contested. He just made them. It made for awesome entertainment. It made for crappy basketball if our goal was better than the 1st round.
Canaan has some of the same qualities, but Canaan is a lot younger (24 vs 33), on a minimum contract while Ben is probably looking at to cash in on some of these cap spike contracts, and Canaan as a player shoots a lot more assited (63.8% assisted vs Ben's 43%).
If someone actually pays attention to Ben and doesn't let him go off like he did in Chicago, he's not that difficult to defend. And Ben's counter is to just try and shoot over them.

I think chortling is illegal in Illinois, be careful about doing it publicly.
I think it is equally laughable that JR would ever bring Gordon back.
