How hilarious would this be if the Kings ended up playing better without Cousins?

Man, I just got home and saw the deal. Incredible.

It's effectively Hield, who's 23 and 6th man quality, a mid-range 1st, a 2nd for Cousins. You'd think even an incompetent organization like the Kings would go to someone else and say this is the offer, beat it and he's yours and half the teams in the league would outbid that.

What a disappointing way to lose out on this pick.

As for the Pelicans.. AD/Cousins will be fun.

I kind of sensed Kings would intentionally tank to get their pick back but didnt know they were this cunning.
This kind of illegal trade should be vetoed by Silver. This deal def feels more unjustified than the CP3 trade.

Could still turn into good player IF this FO does their homework and has done their scouting.

I think that's a stretch. They're after their own interests and no one else. Any Cousins trade was always going to result in us losing the pick.

The 2nd round is pretty solid this year.. the 30-45 range looks to have talent, latter part is a bit more a crapshoot, but that's expected.

Going by the DX mock right now, you've got Bryant, Blossomgame, Hart, Jeanne, G.Allen, Juwan Evans, all in that early 2nd round.

Personally, my favourite 2nd rounder is Jeanne. Would absolutely love to pick him. Be interesting to see where exactly the Kings pick ends up conveying to.

By that time, maybe they are the true rulers of the NBA. They already have Simmons, Embiid, Noel, Saric and a deep bench.
