How do we rebuild w 70M in cap space next summer? Throw a max at Otto Porter? 15M per for Tim Hardaway? Patty Mills for 15M? Illyasova for 15M?

I think we could trade Jimmy and still be a playoff team next season in the weak east.

They can keep Jimmy and still make all of those **** moves you suggested.

Uh... no they can't. They have 30M in cap space if Taj Niko MCW and Rondo leave in FA. If Jimmy stays so does Wade.

Lakers could have had DMC but refused to give up Ingram? SMH

Anyone trading for DMC needs a current star already in place for it to work. Otherwise they just become Kings 2.0.

For example, if the Lakers trade for him they're no better off than Sacramento is right now. If Portland or Houston were to trade for him it's a different story.

I'm excited to see a twin towers franchise. AD and Cousins are incredibly gifted. We will see if AD can be the yin to calm Cousin's yang.

Bulls better wait and see if the Warriors easily win the title.

If its easy, then I don't see any teams competing except those that have stars that can recruit other stars. And Jimmy Butler seems like a guy capable of getting along with other stars and willing to recruit.

I know the new CBA is trying to help teams keep their stars and people don't think guys will ever walk away from those mega deals. But maybe younger ones will. And if no stars ever do walk away from their teams, then GS might win 5 of 6 titles or something, and other superstars will be forced much harder to take stock of their priorities of winning vs money.

Yep. Trouble is, we probably don't have the assets to get the equivalent of Ray Allen and Garnett, plus there's the problem that we don't seem to have the next Rondo with our kids.

Wade might be as good as Allen

wade is redundant to butler. allen was the perfect fit in boston and expected to contribute at a high level in that role for a number of years

The Bulls certainly did not ask Stevens to not play Jimmy the same way that the Kings asked Kerr to not play Cousins.

I'm not sure that's remotely realistic given after what just transpired though.

Agreed. It's also the type of young guys we're adding. It'd be nice to get some elite athleticism on this team.

Don't mention that HP that's the dark voice in my head that makes me want to trade butler for a shot at lonzo.

If it makes you feel better, Butler is athletic?

Yea but I miss the days of having a uber athletic PG.

Hey boston fans, we might have some inept gm's but they are not Sacramento inept. Your not getting Jimmy for a bull package like they got for boogie. People get fired for such stupidity.

its on twitter somewhere. Would have thought the simple trade mind of Magic would have been all about a trade for boogie.

Don't be fooled, the Kings were never going to get fair value for Cousins, because of the attitude issues. He's also not as good of a player as Butler is.

He was, as an advisor. Lots of people wondering whether he'd be happy just "advising" or if he's really after more power, like the GM role or something.

i'm not sure what you expect a team to get for a guy who's about to be a free agent, seeking max money and not worth max money. it's not like they turned down the brooklyn picks

the kings now have the opportunity to spend the cousins money more wisely and effectively get 2 first rounders to boot
