Well Bogut is getting bought out; 76ers did Mavs a favor by taking him. The Mavs gave up Justin Anderson, who is a better young prospect than anyone on our roster. The first round pick, depending on how the protections work out year to year, could be quite meaningful as well. I agree though, this is the kind of deal we need to be exploring, especially if we want to build a contender around Jimmy, but it's a shame our young guys suck and lack any sort of trade value.
It was not about the Bulls but I appreciate the creativity of such deals even if not planned. But, I doubt the Mavs took on Bogut to win games. They knew all along he is a piece in a future deal like this to get a younger, better fit.
