NBATv On Trade Rumors (Much Bulls)

Postby DuckIII on Tue Feb 10, 2009 6:51 pm

I'm just popping in to note this and then I'm logging off. So if this was posted in an Amare thread, another mod can merge. But it includes more than Amare. The following is from "NBA Beat" which is a weekly show on NBATv that has reporters as guests. Today was D Aldridge (who is always on), Frank Isola and Sam Smith. Here you go:

Amare:

DA didn't say much other than that Amare will be moved.

Isola had the odd report: He said that his sources "inside the Knicks organization" have told him that they believe Amare has already been traded to an Eastern Conference team, but that it won't be announced until after the Allstar game so as not to mess things up with him being voted in as a West starter. His sources with the Knicks told him they believe the trade was with Miami or Chicago.

Sam Smith: He refutes Isola's sources and says that no trade has occurred. He went through a bunch of stuff about why the Bulls should or shouldn't do the trade. Here is his unique addition: He said the Suns have informed the Bulls that they have "a better offer from another Eastern Conference team" than what the Bulls are offering, but Sam doesn't know who the team is or what the offer is. He speculated this could be nothing more than a bargaining ploy.

Other Bulls Stuff: Smith said that regardless of what happens with Amare, the Bulls "will make a trade this month." He than said that he's certain that Hughes is on the move and that it is "very likely" that Nocioni will be traded as well. He was not stating these things as speculation.

Red Kerr: Smith said to be glued to the halftime show for Red because "it will be full of surprises that you've never seen before" - but wouldn't elaborate.

That's the extent of the summary. Peace to you all on what will be memorable night for Bulls fans and peace to Johnny "Red" Kerr.

My hopes are sky high again about the "we're gonna make a trade" part. Isola and Stupid Sam suck.

man..this isnt good..not good at all.

Isola says Amare has been traded to either us or Miami..Sam says Phoenix has a better offer from another eastern team

I think Miami has it in the bag people

They said nothing of Hinrich in this particular show. Just so there's no confusion.

If he's already been traded, then one of the teams in the mix should not be playing one or more of their young guys up 'til the all-star break. Tyrus for us, Beasley for Miami, Amir + someone else for the Pistons. Can you imagine having worked out a deal for Amare and then screwing it up by letting one of the essential pieces get hurt with a week to go?

If there really is a better offer out there I say we add Noah. I don't wanna let Amare slip through here

I'm dunno...all is quiet on the Chicago front. Paxson has been laying low for a while. He's up to something. He's up to something big..

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Yeah someone get on the horn with T9. TyrusRose2425 :)

I hope we have it done.

I hope Noce is gone for expirings.

I hope Hughes is gone for Etan and James.

I would love if Kirk was gone, but if Pax can do two of the above, I'll take it.
