Official 2010 White Sox Thread of Win!

Post#1 » by nitetrain8603 » Sun Apr 4, 2010 6:20 pm

Season's about to start on Monday. If you're going to the game, Kenny Williams has called for a blackout. So don't be an asshat and wear White. Jake Westbrook is the first loser to go up against Mark Buehrle. Let's set the tone for a damn good season.

Things I'm interested in:
Development of Sergio Santos, Gordon Beckham and Alexei Ramirez

Things hopefully that go right: Rios, Platoon DH, Juan Pierre, Bobby Jenks, Scott Linebrink

Excited to see: Jake Peavy a full season with the Sox.

Let's kick asphalt and take some names!

Tomorrow's game should be interesting. Excited to see how Jake Westbrook does in his return to the Indians.

It was great opener. I am looking forward to Peavy mowing down the tribe. Hopefully Carmona pitches like he did last year and does not return to form from a few years ago. If so we will be in good shape. Let's go white sox 2-0.

Nice to see some pop from Rios, and Gordon picking up where he left off.

Very nice for yesterday's game. Everything was almost perfect. Only thing I would change is Kotsay in the 5 hole. He should bat no higher than 7th on this squad. Also, Pierre didn't get it going, but I expect him to run rampant once summer comes around.

Beckham was overlooked this game. Greatest thing about the win is that we got Peavy going next in his first meaningful game for the White Sox. Let's keep the momentum going.

Well we had our shot at the perfect season, but we couldn't hold the early lead. Peavy was a little out of control in the fourth but I think he will be fine this year. We won't win too many games if only get two hits. Gavin needs to come through today to take the series.

I agree kotsay should not be batting fifth, and we are going to need some hitting out Teahen.

Yeah, Teahan is going to have to hit around .260, 15-20HR's with a .340 OBP and good defense for me to want to keep him around. I like the guy's personality, but he has to produce.

Peavy was sloppy yesterday, but hopefully that was just because he needs to get a feel for the season. Also, no way our offense will be off the hook with just two hits.

Wow do our bats need a wake up call. Six games in and we have four starters hitting below the mendoza line. ugh. Only Pauly & Carlos are hitting. Well I'm counting on Peavy to bring us back to 3-4.

Nice come from behind win. I thought it was over Peavy was relived and williams came in and threw four straight balls. I'll take 14 hits anyday. Kudos to Teahen & Jones who broke out of there slumps, alexei also had a nice defensive play in the 6th with the bases loaded. I'm hoping peavy returns to form soon. Floyd is going to have his work cut for him to bring us back up to .500 tonight.

Wow have things really took a turn for the worst since my last post. Last place and the second worse record in the league and TB coming up. It does not look good. You know its getting ugly when you get swept by the tribe. I hope we have bottomed out, but we have a tough week ahead. I still have faith the pitching will come around - Danks is throwing well just needs some runs. I am worried about the hitting though. We need to snap out of this before the hole becomes to big.

Hey don't look now but we are inching our way back into contention. I didn't see the game yesterday but I saw some highlights and floyd looked great. Big series coming up against the cubs, lets hope Peavy gets us started on the right track.

You guys will surely win at least 2 of 3 against us. More than likely sweep.

Streak stops at 11, but I'll take two out three from the cubs now lets hope buerhle can get a W over KC tonight. We got off to a good start yesterday but Danks couldn't hold an early lead and Colvin knocked the ball around. The late rally in the nineth was not enough.

Only two games out in W column, it could be an interesting second half of the season.

Well we were suffering the hangover from our winning streak. Only two games back and Gavin has been pitching really well lately. We are up againgst a tough righty in Bannister but I think tonight we start a new win streak.
