We got Dunn and Konerko! I like these two signings.

They aren't going anywhere with their pitching staff.

Enjoy the winter Chicago, because it's goint to be a long summer for both sides of town.

What?

Buehrle
Danks
Floyd
Jackson
Peavy

is one of the top pitching staffs in baseball, if healthy. Add an arm or two to the bullpen and they'll be set.

Just a must-watch army of possessed ass-kickers laying the smack down night after night after night. People are gonna hate playing the Bulls this year.

What?! Their pitching staff is the strongest thing about their team.

Peavy
Buehrle
Jackson
Danks
Floyd

That's a deep rotation.

they were in the lower half of team era last year. Peavy hasn't been relevant for 3 years now and can't stay healthy. A team with no ace , doesn't

I tend to agree with you. Buehrle is becoming prone to really bad outings and can't be counted on as a sure thing every 5 days anymore. I'm not convinced Peavy is ever going to make a significant contribution with the Sox. Jackson looked very good last year, but he's not an ace.

But the rotation can hold up with the lineup they're putting together. Ramirez won a Silver Slugger and he's the fifth power hitter on the team.

If anything will hold them back, it's the bullpen.

Cool story bro.

Fact: every team in last years playoff had a better ace than the White Sox currently do.

As the playoffs went on teams with the strongest aces moved to the next round. It is no coincidence that Holliday, Sabathia, Lee, and Lincecum made it to their league championship. Big time pitchers, make a team great. The White Sox don't have a big time pitcher and they aren't going to make the playoffs because of it.

I don't know, the Twins made the playoffs with Liriano (14-10, 3.62 ERA) as their ace and not much else behind him. They were beaten soundly in the first round, but it was by no means a bad or wasteful season for them.

Rotation depth is more important in the playoffs than a top-of-the-line starter. The stacked contenders of the past season had both.

I honestly doubt that a white sox fan would consider our starting rotation weak. Or any neutral fan who watches baseball. Only hater cub fans who never go anywhere, and when they almost go somewhere, choke and blow it.

The White Sox also won't finish over .500 last season, and their season ended in May.

Spoilers are a bummer.

And? They aren't playing last year any more.

As a Cub fan I am trained and program to hate the White Sox, but even I must admit the White Sox should be, at worst, co-favorites to win the AL Central. While they don't have that one ace that can dominate every five days, they do have 5 guys who can take the ball every turn and give the White Sox a quality start (6ips 3 or less runs per game) and a chance to win. That's all you ask.

But as mentioned, if the White Sox don't address their bullpen, it won't matter how good their offense or starting rotation will be, cause the bullpen will be their weakness. So here's to the White Sox putting together a solid bullpen.

He's also making statements that aren't necessarily true. Personally I'd take Danks over any starting pitcher the Twins or Reds had in 2010 :)
