Good Pickup for the September push to the postseason. Seth Smith will still be our primary DH, but it will be nice to have another Left Handed hitter who has a good bat.

He is old but from the story it sounds like he is ready to play.

Just another left handed bat off the bench. Also somebody who could fill in for Helton when he needs a day off. Low risk here, if he sucks we can easily cut him loose, we're paying him minimal.
