Rockies 2010 Season

A lot of intrigue going into this season. There are expectations a-plenty, which have never been kind with this franchise. I'm pumped to watch CarGo this year. If he can build on how he finished last season, he's going to be a beast. Tulo is an MVP candidate. Hopefully we can get consistency from the pitching staff. Ubaldo needs to become an All-Star this season.

I've got pretty high expectations for this season. Atkins is really the only rotation player we lost in the offseason but Stewart should make up for that just fine. It's too bad Francis had to get hurt again in Spring Training, hopefully he wont be out more than a month. Otherwise our rotation would be looking real strong, with Ubaldo as the ace. With Gonzalez, Stewart, Iannetta, Fowler, Smith and even Tulo and Barmes improving, anything short of the playoffs will be a major disappointment. I'm excited to watch.

Nice home opener. Good to see Barmes hit one out. I think he's due for 4-5 hitless games now. Jorge was an absolute stud out there. 7 innings of one hit ball, and that one hit was a hit and run seeing eye single.

I think the guy we need to get over the hump is EY. He had a great stolen base where the safe call was missed and then kinda biffed it in LF....I wouldn't ask him to worry about umpire calls as there will be plenty more missed where that came from, -just to follow up and make sure he's defensively sound and can use his speed again in his next opportunity.

All that being said, I love the infusion of talent and youth that's blessed this team the past couple of years. Fowler's a natural, Cargo is insanely good at the plate, and Stewie by his 12th inning homerun shows us he's got plenty of power.

Watching Seth Smith get that triple kind of just reinforced it all - there is a very bright and talented, team-oriented squad in Colorado this year.

I know the record is roughly 50/50 right now, but I'm definitely getting intrigued by the possibilities.

They been able to tread water with a patchwork starting rotation and closer. The middle relief has been stellar, it's the starters (other than Ubaldo and Chacin's two starts) and the closer spot that have struggled. If they can float around .500 as they get Francis, De La Rosa, and Street back, they'll be just fine.
