There’s something wrong with the Colorado Rockies. After a hot start that found the team leading the National League West by several games, the Rockies have settled in to a familiar pattern of losing, leaving fans bewildered as a spring full of promise turns into a summer of discontent. These fans can not only point at the impotent bats of Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez going cold, but also at nearly all the other members of the squad, who have opted to go in the tank along with them. When the team occasionally does find an offensive spark, the pitching falls apart like a science fair spaceship.
But there may be yet another reason. We were all too excited to find out what Tulo’s walk-up song would be, and we neglected to take a look at the rest of the team’s tunes. The music of the other position players and some of the pitchers may be hurting the team on and off the field. Let’s take this one off manager Jim Tracy’s ever-growing plate of trouble and analyze it ourselves.
