Week of August 10th (Cubs/Pirates/Marlins Series)

Post#1 » by MHZ » Tue Aug 11, 2009 1:16 am

Try something to get a little activity. Post on any of the three series this week. It sucks to see so many Cubs fans at Coors Field, btw, I of course went to the one weekend game the Rox lost.

Tulo just hit his 21st of the year to put the Rox up 2-0 against the Cubs. Taking three of four from the Cubs would be really nice, with them right in the thick of the Wild Card race. Also helped that Cincy took a series against the Giants.

Awesome to see the pop Tulo has had since his early season slump. If he can keep a consistent bat, approach .300 and 30 HR seasons, with his incredible glove, he'll be a top player in the league.

Tulo just hit for the cycle!

Although he had absolutely no reason to go for the triple on that last one other than to get the cycle...and if it weren't for the Cubs' horrific defense, there is no way he would have....but it's **** awesome that he did.

Dude is beasting. He took b2b pitches to the concourse earlier in the game.

Pretty nasty bump into the wall on a great catch by Fowler. I guess if Huston Street is going to pick a game to be crappy, this was the best one.

Rox open up a three game set with abysmal Pittsburgh tonight. Hopefully they can keep rolling, I think Chacin is getting the start for Aaron Cook. These kind of series worry me, just like the Reds taking a series from the Giants, you just never know.

Terrible start to the series, but that was just a weird game all around and you kind of just have to throw it out. Nice bounce back game tonight with Mr. Consistency on the mound in Ubaldo. Rockies winning 5-0 so far. I'm assuming Jimenez is done, so he went 8 innings, 3 hits, 4 walks, 6 KO, for the shutout W. 20 straight starts now of going 6 innings or more as well.

Awesome outing by Ubaldo. Kind of crappy that Aaron Cook had to miss a start yesterday, which seemed to kill us. Get another win, and then another Cubs-esque critical series with the Marlins, who only sit three back of the Rox.

Tulo keeps beasting. Another HR today. Looks like the Rox should be able to close out another win.

Ugly game to start the roadtrip, but made it interesting there in the end. Need Cook to come out tomorrow and set the tone for the rest of the series.

Well, we let Florida right into the thick of the Wild Card race this weekend, but at least we got the second of the double header to avoid a complete thrashing.

Return to Colorado Rockies
