#Angels SS Erick Aybar will celebrate his 4-year extension by being benched in favor of Abreu in leadoff spot. Aybar is hitting .171.

#Angels GM Jerry Dipoto wouldn't confirm Aybar deal but said, "We're very close. We have some details to sow up." Among reasons SS Erick Aybar chose to sign with #Angels instead of test FA market: "Even when I was a nobody in the DR, they supported me." #Angels' Kendrick on Aybar: "It's not always about the $. It's about playing the game, doing what you love and being happy where you're at."

Sweet. Hard to find a decent offensive SS who has plus defense. The best part of his deal is that if Jean Segura proves to be ready to take over within those four years, Aybar's contract is friendly enough that it should be easy to find some takers for him.
