LMAO Josh Beckett just said in interview

"ya, hmmm, I don't know man the guys played a great defense behind me, I know they, it gets tiring hearing me say that ****!, but they really played great defense"

and we won last two series, we aren't coining together a winning streak but we are wining.

Josh Beckett sounds like a guy ready to retire after this season. love his honesty when saying "I dont really have the stuff to get a no hitter, but i also never carried a no hitter no more than a 3rd inning" I think Orel said in the game that his longest no hitter was into 6 and 2/3 innings but makes a good story!

A.J. Ellis getting props for Beckett's revitalization:

Pedro Moura, Orange County Register (5/15/14)
The best thing to happen to Josh Beckett in a long time was Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis tearing the meniscus in his left knee last month.

So says the 34-year-old right-hander, because with the downtime Ellis had after surgery, he put together a packet of information to show the struggling Beckett what he was doing wrong.
...

“It was basically, ‘This is what you (expletive) need to do,’” Beckett said. “But he didn’t put it that brutally. He said, ‘Hey, I want to show you some numbers.’”

Of the data Ellis then presented, Beckett remembers most the unexpectedly low slugging percentages against his curveball for both left- and right-handed hitters. There was other information, too, all about his curve and its unhittability.

“He had clearly already been thinking about this,” Beckett said. “And he finally goes, ‘People just don’t hit your curveball.’”

I am liking Butera's game calling lately. I will sacrifice some offense for Butera's game calling and Erisbel's SS play. this is so reminiscent of the yesteryear's dodgers, where it was all pitching and defense, and occasional timely hitting. lots of 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 games in my younger days.
