if this guy is supposed to be a spot starter to fill in until Rich Hill's blister heals, why not just give Magic Mike another start? he must be coming in for the bullpen spot.

I looked at Chavez on baseball reference....

He hasnt started a game this year.
Would be weird for us to acquire him and make him a starter. Maybe a spot start but I think he's bullpen help.
