I was hoping the Giants Cubs game would go deep into extra innings. hope they do tomorrow. something like an epic 27 innings game... and all the way to game 5. in fact I hope all four remaining games they go into 18 innings minimum per game.

meanwhile we better make a clean sweep, get back home, regroup, and get well rested.

Our hitters are 0-5 with the bases loaded in this game. We lose the lead on a hanging curve ball during an otherwise dominant performance by Rich Hill. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

now they only have lowly Oliver Perez left on the bullpen that is a lefty. time to crush these guys in the next 6 outs.

I'm no fan of leaving winnable playoff games on the table.

The last time I relaxed during playoff losses, the Rockets came back from 3-1 and beat us.

This game is winnable.
We do need to do some work before Dusty brings Melancon in. He can come in for a 4-5 out save.

should bring in Ethier on top of the 8th. I don't care if we bring him in to replace Kendrick or the pitcher's spot, but we have got to take advantage of his presence. I like bringing him in to start, so if they go with Perez we can bring in Ruiz in pitchers spot, forcing Dusty to either have Perez face a righty or waste him and leave no lefty in the pen.

Ethier on deck, if they bring in Perez, he will face 3 consecutive lefties. we have got to bring in Ruiz for Utley.

If our offense is going to go M.I.A., we might as well shop for Halloween costumes. Kershaw is not in top form, Maeda is susceptible to falling into predictable pitch sequencing, and Urias is on a pitch count as a young inexperienced arm. Hill was our best chance at winning with a pitching performance. If we can't score on the Nationals, then what are we going to do against the Cubs?
