Why would we trade a pick to eat Calderon's contract? The Knicks are considering moving back in the draft in order to dump it.

It's crazy that he was overlooked for so long. Big. Strong. Has a jumper. Had traditional big man moves. RUNS the floor. Has good hands.

You think how good he can be out of the gates next year.

Wait. Did you just say that Mozgov has good hands?
I guess I watched a different playoffs than you.

I'm not knocking anything else you implied, but if the guy could just catch the ball he would be elite. It may be all that's holding him back. His hands suck. He should yell at them during the game - talk to them, possibly sacrifice something to Jobu.
Kyrie most of the time when he shoots starts with the ball and then dribbles a while then shoots. -statistical analysis from a 'longtime' Cavs fan (June 2017)

No thank you. We only have 2 roster spots to fill and I don't wanna waste one on Jose Calderon. We need a PG and SF. Ones who can shoot and play defense.

How about this one. This is dependent on Mudiay dropping to the Magic. Already got Elf and Vic no need for him.

Orlando get 7th and 24th pick
Denver get Mudiay, Haywood, Nicholson, Harkless
Cav get Lawson and Chandler

Yall get a helluva back up/insurance to Irving. Lawson would surely take a lesser role with yall to be on a contender. Chandler (keeping with the theme of NY leftovers) replaces JR. And if you face GS again next year (which I think is likely) Chandler becomes really important. He gives you the ability to match up with GS athletically with the small ball.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

We can in no way afford that

That would be amazing but I highly doubt Demver does that.

It all depends if JR resigns or not. If JR is back, I don't see a need for Mayo. If he leaves though that trade might make sense.

Plus the #7 pick

The value is definitely good, but personally I like Kyrie too much to pull the trigger on a trade unless it's crazy value.

wouldn't deal Hardaway, even if it mean not getting the 24th pick. can't imagine Cleveland not doing a Calderon for Haywood swap unless there is a better deal out there.

I can imagine it with minimal effort. We just waive Haywood and sign Mo Williams to the league minimum.

Thoughts on Bennett and Budinger +31 for Haywood + 24.

For Min Use Bennett to dump Budinger's salary
For Cleveland - Let Bennett learn under Love and Lebron and have Budinger to be a younger Mike Miller.

Good value but Bennett is too fragile to have an impact in the playoffs. Not really what we need.

We give Minny $10 million in cap relief and the better pick? If you're using Bennett to dump Budinger's contract, a dubious proposition, why are we sapping picks?

Even if you remove the pick swap, there's zero chance that Gilbert okays a trade that has him paying $30 million in luxury tax payments to add Bennett and Budinger to the roster.

Cavs send:
Kevin Love
Jared Cunnigham

Celtics send:
Isaiah Thomas
Kelly Olynyk
Avery Bradley
2016 Celtics pick

OR

Celtics send:
Isaiah Thomas
Jae Crowder
Kelly Olynyk
2016 Celtics pick

Fair? More than enough? Future pick needed?
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Not close. IT isn't needed on the Cavs. They already have Kyrie/Delly/Mo Williams. They don't need another undersized PG who is a defensive liability. The only trade that would make any sense for the Cavs would included Crowder, Kelly O, and Batum from Charlotte. Boston would have to pay the price for a half season rental of Batum which might actually mean Bradley and the 1st. Bradley is a nice piece but it's hard to see the value added to the Cavs who already have a Kyrie/Delly/Shump/JR rotation. Plus the Cavs like Cunningham. I'd probably send out J. Jones or Kuan or someone else. Honestly, I have a really hard time seeing the Cavs trading Love mid season.
