Had we have taken JVal last year...

Meaning, no TT for whole last year, which means, even worse record than we had...

In some type of butterfly effect, say we end up drafting 3rd because we end up slightly worse than Wiz.

Of course we draft Beal because we were high on him.

Now, we all know Waiters >>> Beal (even with Dion's poor shooting streak, he's been shooting better than Beal)

Does that difference between Waiters and Beal warrant us drafting JVal instead of TT in this alternative universe.

Basically what I'm saying is.

JVal/Beal

or

TT/Waiters.

Which one is the better option?

I dont think theres that much of a difference between waiters and beal. We certainly cant say waiters will definitely be better yet.

Would have we even drafted beal over waiters? I cant remember, i remember we wanted mkg and then dion, where did beal fit in?

Honestly right now Jval and beal is looking nicer. Thompson has been so bad this season, oh well.

Thompson was a huge mistake. I'm starting to wonder what really went down between the cavs and val...

I though you guys didn't take val because he couldn't be bought out and had to wait a year to come over but the Cavs wanted someone now. Big mistake. Maybe.Cleveland triggers the rumored varejo+picks for Barn
Starting line up of
Pg kyrie
Sg Beal or waiters
Sf Barnes
Pf 13 lottery pick
C Val

Is a way better core

Kyrie and Jonas - that duo could dominate league in few yaers, your management failed big time.

Oy, now even Cavs fans starting Valanciunas threads.

I guess we can give this topic another go, but we've locked at least 2 other threads discussing this exact topic, so the ice is already thin.

Seriously this is way too soon. I'm so tired of these threads. Can we play 40 games before hypothetical things get bandied about? Wtf

Ask again at the end of the season, its still way too early to know. Val has had a couple crap games and a couple of very good games. The constant is that TT has been underwhelming. Beal is going to be up and down like Waiters so any comparisons are going to be skewed by using such a small sample size.
I would have been happier at draft time with Beal (or my choice MKG) but have been happy for the most part with how Dion has played so far.

J Val with 2pts 3lbks and 3PF''s tonight so far = GOAT BABY!!

Few Issues:

1. Cavs run no plays for Thompson - great reward for apparently working hard in the offseason
2. Starting TT and AV together kills our spacing
3. Kyrie is out - again less chances for TT to finish off Irving

I am not saying at all that Thompson is the next big thing. I have actually been pretty pissed at his play lately. But would it kill the Cavs to run a play for him in the post instead of calling plays for CJ?

I recall last year him getting a hell of a lot more post touches

There is legitimately no point whatsoever in discussing this on here. This argument will never go anywhere except either "See! I told you we should have drafted him" or "See! Thompson is better". That is it, there is literally no substance to be discussed here. I'm not sure if it's just because we have a crappy team and not much to talk about, but literally there will never be any real debate here aside from hindsight.

not sure why anyone thinks we'd give up Varejao for Barnes. We passed on him once already and he's not as valuable as a big. No way I'd even contemplate tossing in picks as well.
