One of the best centers in the lg for expiring's & a mid 1st.

Well he is a free agent next summer. Basically, if he wants to be a Cav, these unguaranted contracts make it a possibility to facilitate a sign and trade.

No need for another max contract guy. I love Gasol's game, but it isn't necessary to obtain a premium player when an above-average one would meet our needs without over-burdening the cap.

I agree. Gasol would obviously fit like a glove but it's not really realistic, at least not until he says he wants to leave Memphis. For now getting a guy like Mozgov or Koufos should be the priority. Of course even that is going to be tricky as teams will surely won't want to help out the Cavs, unless of course they get a little bit more in return.

I think a player like McGee or Saunders could be of real use

Wow I can't believe that we will have that kind of money to even consider these ideas next year

Dan can you please find a way to buy the Indians for the Dolans? Please pretty please?

We get an asset in the TPE that we don't have to pay.

The coolest thing though is that unlike past GMs, Griffin has found no problems maneuvering when needed.
Think about this TPE. Felix to Utah, the Utah return for Bogans, Bogans for the TPE.
All these deals seemed like they were helpful/needed when they were made to position the Cavs for the next bigger and better deal. Though it seems to have come full circle - the one player traded for the bunch of contracts, the bunch of contracts consolidated, the one player for the TPE asset we don't even have to pay.
Trading Felix and Powell for the TPE is a good deal. I liked both young players but the salary cap is a bigger challenge than adding their type of talent.
Kyrie most of the time when he shoots starts with the ball and then dribbles a while then shoots. -statistical analysis from a 'longtime' Cavs fan (June 2017)

Pretty sure the new TPE can be flipped for Mozgov. You'd have to add a little sugar, but I think Mozgov is an expiring and the numbers work.

What is Denver's motivation to trade their starting center?

You guys should add Seth Curry if you're serious about winning this year.

The $23+ million they still owe the guy they originally signed to be their starting center? Regardless, I think Mozgov and McGee could be real options at some point.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Really happy for you guys.

Went from having one of the worst teams in the league and the -by far- most stupid GM to:

-LeBron
-Love
-A GM who so far hasn't done anything other than great moves from a flexibility standpoint

Very impressed with Griffin so far, I'm confident he will make good use of the TPE + Haywood's contract.

Yeah, I don't see it. Too many large contracts, and fwiw I am not sold on Hibbert being a guy that can be counted on at this point.

Other news Haywood really miss playing and is very motivated. He thinks he can be the rim protector the cavs need. He did practice Saturdays so he's way ahead of schedule.

So, with the new TV deals, is there any chance Love opts in to his contract and waits till 2016 to seek a new contract instead of opting out this summer and signing a 5 year max with us this summer? That would suck, I want him locked up as soon as possible.
