Cavs Backup Guard Situation

Post#1 » by yosemiteben » Thu Oct 2, 2014 9:14 pm

I'm an ACC basketball fan and really like Joe Harris. Any chance he sees any PT next season for you guys?

As a broader question, it seems like you guys are a little light on guards - I see really only Dellavadova and Harris as available off the bench, unless the plan is to ask Mike Miller to fill in at SG. Obviously Kyrie and Waiters are going to get a lot of burn, so maybe that's not an issue absent injury. Any concern that the depth chart is a little thin at SG?

As long as they don't bring in Ray Allen there should be a spot for Joe.

I do think they're still short a guard. Specifically a defensive guy, someone athletic enough to run with the elites (Rose, Wall, Parker, Westbrook) they'll have to face. They have a couple extra guys in camp, but I don't have that guy yet.

Anyone else think Daniel Gibson would make a solid 3rd point guard?

A three point shot and no defense....the more the merrier, lol.

I actually don't think this team needs a 3rd PG with LeBron and Waiters around.

Harris is a fine defender. Me and my brother have been calling him the white Rip Hamilton. The guy is smart, skilled, and has a high bbiq. He is lacking explosiveness but I don't see why he'd need it in an offense where defenses can't afford to worry about him.

I feel like he can grow into a mike miller role as soon as next year

He's a good shooter has a tricky inside game and can defend at an inch above average level
