Game 11: Cavs at Washington Wizards 8:00 EST, ESPN FSO

Post#1 » by King Stannis » Fri Nov 21, 2014 9:29 am

Coming off a close loss to the NBA Champion Spurs, the Cavs (5-5) look to renew the rivalry with the Wizards (7-3) on a good note and end a two-game losing streak. Bradley Beal returns for the Wizards for his second game after suffering an injury in the off-season.

Carried by ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio.

Keys to the Game:

1. Intensity on defense
2. Crashing boards
3. LeBron and Love returning to form
4. Containing Wall and Beal

Notes:

Bradley Beal played 26 minutes after missing the first nine games of the season with a broken wrist and scored 21 points against the Mavericks.

Beal's not that big a deal, they can guard Beal. Wall is going to destroy them though.
That's survivable if they win inside. Washington has some big bodies, it will be interesting to see if Love can score inside, and if the Cavaliers can win on the boards. If not, this one might be a long night.

If you are Blatt, what are you even saying at half time?

"You guys are making Seraphin look like Shaq. I don't know how that's even possible."

Blazer fan visiting this sub forum.

Love isn't failing here. It looks like he's being frozen out by the perimeter guys. Defensively, he's filling space nicely. Look at the Wizards' bigs' numbers. The Cavs' interior guys are out rebounding the Wizards' bigs. Love has 8 points on 7 looks, while LeBron has 22 on 24 looks.

The Cavs don't seem to have any idea how to use Love. This is just not good basketball.
1/17/2015 prediction: Curry outplays Westbrook in the 14-15 playoffs.

He plays garbage defense, but, you are correct about them vitally ignoring him on offense.

Thanks, gang. That was a wonderful way to spend a Friday night. Can we do this again tomorrow?

They should be fresh for the Raptor game considering they never showed up to this one.

And if you ignore every game he's ever played in and look at obscure advanced stats, he's actually a great defender!

Kevin Love is overrated. We find these things out when a player who has amazing stats goes to a pressure situation with high expectation.

Money quote:

Mike Miller’s defense… Everone matched up on Miller had the green light to take him one-on-one any time they wanted. Old man, Andre Miller took that green light to heart and went 3-3 against Mike. After the game they agreed to meet up some time for a meal of soft foods and conversation about The Great War and the marvel of the horseless carriage.
