Varejao?

What is his status? He's been out since December and could be a game changer with Love likely out.

Too soon from an Achilles injury. Would be a huge risk if he played.

hm a month ago he was talking about wanting to return but was talked out of it... maybe he'll make another push now? I don't think it was full tear like Kobe's per se, plus he's much younger, there's levels to Achilles injury.

we really need the Chi-Mil series to go on as long as possible

The Cavs used the DPE on him. I don't think they can bring him back.

It would be huge if he could just give 10 minutes per game. Thats 10 less minutes of perkins/James Jones out there. Man this Bulls series could get very ugly for us with Perk and JJ playing big minutes SMH.

And the Pacers used the DPE on George and he still returned. Nothing is preventing Varejao from playing other than health.

It sucks but no chance he can play. We just have to hope lebron and Kyrie go nuts and TT abuses the offensive boards in game 1.

We can still win we just need to win game 1.

Varejao?

The lack of practice, conditioning, and pre-Timo/Iman/JR playbook probably limits his impact over Perkins/Haywood. Add in the risk of playing early and I don't think the Cavs pull that trigger.

240 minutes for the first two games will be rough;'then Shumpert gets to showcase for his RFA...

That's it, this is where shumpert earns a good contract, the next two games.

From rotoworld.com:
Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said an Anderson Varejao (Achilles) return to during the playoffs is not a possibility.

With the news that Kevin Love will likely miss the rest of the playoffs, Griffin said "I don't believe that's even a remote possibility" when asked about the potential of Varejao returning for the playoffs.

From me:
Anyone hoping Shumpert leads us to victory.. I hope you're not serious.
Kyrie most of the time when he shoots starts with the ball and then dribbles a while then shoots. -statistical analysis from a 'longtime' Cavs fan (June 2017)

He wouldn't be in basketball shape anyway.
