TT feels disrespected by the Cavs

Post#1 » by jbk1234 » Fri Aug 14, 2015 8:44 pm

According to Haynes, TT feels disrespected by the Cavs $80 million offer. He also said that he spoke with four to five teams who would be willing to take a hard look at giving TT max type money next year ($20-25 million per). This is the first time that any pundit has claimed that TT will get his money next summer. Now Haynes has always been a huge fan of TT and I feel like he's a bit of a stenographer for Klutch. But I don't even know what to say if that's the case. I mean Mozgov needs to get paid next summer and you can't have five guys making max or near max money.

Teams aren't offering him the max because hes not worth it. Teams certainly aren't offering it next season.

We are the only team that value him as high as 5/80. Where are the offers? Why wouldnt someone offer him a max this season then?

They are just posturing, trying to put pressure on the Cavs. The team is playing this the right way, whether or not TT's feelings are hurt or not.

TT needs to understand that getting the same contract as Draymond Green when he isn't as good as Draymond Green (according to stats, the eye test, records of team success, and as evidenced in the NBA Finals) is very much a sign of respect.

S&T TT for MMorris. No problem. Phonix can deal with this feeling

I'd take one year of TT instead of four of Morris. Morris has no value to a contender, he's too much of a risk of being a cancer.

Agreed. If only to show TT that enough is enough. Part of me suspects that what he really feels disrespected by is Love signing a max and starting over him for the next five years. If that's the case, better for him to move along.

Disrespected by $80 million? God damn, Tristan, know your worth. If he could do anything but get offensive rebounds, finish the occasional oop, and play average defense, then maybe he'd be worth more, but for right now, he should be ecstatic with that kind of money on the table.

Pretty sure that everyone outside Klutch thinks that.

And Jeff Van Gundy, who if I remember correctly seemed like the first person to bring up this Tristan max talk.

I don't think TT is overrated at all. He's just not worth the amount of money that he wants.

Yeah but the Piston just gave Reggie Jackson $80 million and gave J. Smith a close to max contract 18 months before waiving him. I'm not sure they're a good gauge of player value.

Oh, I agree with you. I hate that he kept pushing that idea because Tristan isn't worth nearly the max.

Also, you're thinking of Stan Van Gundy, coach of the Pistons, instead of Jeff Van Gundy, announcer.

Yeah I mixed those two up. Jeff values defense and effort more than anything else. I can see him thinking that TT is worth a max contract.

under the old CBA, he would not be worth more than 8m$ per, I can understand he getting anywhere from 12-14m$ per since the CBA and the $ conditions changed, but 80m$/5y is highway robbery and he even wants more? seriously?

I'd struggle giving him more than 70m$/5y honestly.
