Preseason

Cavs look pretty good so far but I don't really like this second team, no go to scorer on the floor.

The calls in this game are ridiculously one sided. Seriously? Why? This is preseason. Cavs can't buy a foul and the Hawks are allowed to foul with impunity.

If I'm Blatt, I'm cutting Harris and keeping Cunningham.

And in his second season, after considerable playing time in the D League, Harris just doesn't look like an NBA player. I don't think it's for a lack of effort either.

I know it's just preseason, but i would like to see the cavs start winning a little. You want to bring some momentum heading into the start of the season, which features a back to back on the road against a bulls team that hates us and memphis who is tough to beat on the road. With all these injuries and contract issues, it could be a very rough start to the season. And we could be stuck around 500 for the first 20 games or so with no Kyrie. TT, Shump, a limited Love, and a Lebron who wants to be more passive. I know it's early, but it would be nice to bury the competition in the east, and rest before the playoffs as much as possible, and not start slow again like last year...

Bad news, Harris isn't getting cut and the Cavs have every intention to pick up his option next season. I guess we all got to hope he does well tonight and show he's a NBA player finally and continue for every minute he plays. I don't care that everyone l Iikes him on the team, we don't need a $800,000+ Mascot when we can get some depth instead.

Yeah with Shump and Kyrie hurt we expect him to make the roster.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised. Then again, Haywood and Perkins were last year's third string centers.

Sasha looks good except the fouling imo.Im expecting him to be at the right speed eventually.
The whole bench crew has been strong. JJ is still showing signs that he can log in minutes at the 4 without being a liability. Jefferson and Mo are the depth we needed. Sasha has to work a bit more but he showed signs that he is a nba level player. Delly is the perfect 3rd string combo guard.

Some of those fouls only happened because Monroe complained so much he picked up a technical. In a regular season game, he's not getting all those calls.

I hope that's the case. We need him to be out of foul trouble because Varejao was never supposed to be a center and limiting his minutes there will keep him healthier.

Easy to say that the 15 players should be,

Irving-Williams-Dellavedova
Shumpert-Smith-Cunningham
James-Jefferson-Harris
Love-Thompson-Jones
Mozgov-Varejao-Kaun

I like Cook quite a bit too, and I will probably sign him until TT situation is solved, since Kyrie and Iman are hurt.
Then when Thompson's issue is solved one way or the other the Cavs can just cut whoever is worse, Cunningham, Harris, Cook,...

Well we might See Jack Cooley play again in preseason. Undersized center, that played for us last preseason and did very well. Ended up getting picked up by the Jazz. Won't get a roster spot but if this guy was atleast 6"11 I think he really would still be on the Jazz roster.

I will start the season with,

Irving-Williams-Cook
Shumpert-Dellavedova-Cunningham
James-Smith-Harris
Love-Jones-Jefferson
Mozgov-Varejao-Kaun

Then when the TT situation gets solved, you can cut whoever is playing worse between Cook, Cunningham, Harris, or even RJ.
I think that's the smart thing to do.

Probably roll with,

Williams-Dellavedova
Smith-Cunningham/Harris
James-Jefferson
Love-Jones
Mozgov-Varejao/Kaun

Until everyone is back

If Thompson isn't back I really see Andy getting a fair amount of minutes at the 4. With Kaun getting an even or maybe slightly more minutes at C than Andy. Like someone said above limiting Andy's minutes at the C position will keep him healthier. Who knows how the shot will affect Lebron's back? He may well be on a minutes restriction to start the season so that will mean JJ at the SF for a few more minutes if that is the case, and more open minutes at PF.

Hope jr is ok. Didn't look too serious. We really can't afford to lose him.
