Yeah, he needed to be smarter on that liner from Revere, especially with a 3 run lead.

That was a nice recovery though, gotta give him some credit there.

Great recovery by Duke. Big K. He threw a lot of strikes to get out of the inning. Good to see.

Duke is at least better than Michael Gonzalez was, so thats something. Though it'd be hard not to be.

He was great in relief for Cincy at the end of last season. We have to hope he can get to that lefty specialist status. Striking out a dangerous righty, in Marlon Byrd, was a big plus.

The problem with Duke is that we basically only have 5 relievers that Roenicke currently trusts and one of them should be a LOOGY. That's going to burn out the bullpen quick.

You'd think they'd walk him. Naw. Lord Braun has returned to his home park in Philly!

Loved listening to that on the radio. Braun is announced and boos drown out Uecker for a moment. Not 10 seconds later, "HEY GET UP! GET OUTTA HERE, GONE!"

The bullpen is a work in progress, obviously. Right now, Henderson is a pretty big concern. Where did his velocity go? Gorzelanny in the wings is a luxury. It will all figure itself out. It does feel precarious, however. The key to this team is the starting rotation. If they can consistently go 6-7 innings, it goes without saying: that would be huge.
