Just looked at the stats and I had no idea Nori was playing so poorly this year.

Working now. For some reason the gif stopped when Molina was taking the ball out of his glove.

A's with an average run differential of +1.97 right now. It took me a while to find some info on this, but apparently only 5 teams have ever averaged +2.0 for a season and they're all the Yankees of the late 20's and the 30's. The '98 Yanks and 2001 Mariners came close.

Taking nothing away from either of those incredible throws, if he had managed to play the ball correctly the first time there wouldn't even be a need for them. (Well specifically the second one, the first one he may have needed to throw anyways but it wouldn't have been as close)

Still better than Stanton though who looks like Corey Hart in the outfield, that guy misplays balls daily. He has a great arm but its not often used because hes not usually in the proper position to field.

I remember how great Mike Cameron was in cf, and some opposing team's announcer (I forget who) was talking about how he does it. It takes a lifetime of practice. The best outfielders can sometimes tell which way the ball is going to tail by the sound it makes when it's hit. Knowing the hitters and pitchers matters too. Some call it instincts, but it's really a question of experience. That explanation always resonated with me. It explains why Braun and Hart always looked bad in the of, despite being fast in their primes. They grew up playing on the infield. Like in chess, there's no substitute for having a ton of experience in all situations.
