Fantasy Baseball

I don't see a thread but wanted people's opinions on a trade.

Kluber/Tulo/Trout for Archer/McCutchen/Abreu -- Who wins the deal?

This is a ultra competitive keeper league that I am in and I am sort of in the need for a stud SP. My lineup goes:

C- Martin
1B- Votto
2B - Kipnis
3B- Bryant
SS - Tulo
OF - Hanley
OF- Trout
OF - Brantley
Util - Reyes
Bench: V-Mart
Bench: Pence
Bench: Hamilton

SP- King Felix
SP- Kluber
SP - Hamels
SP- Garcia
SP- Lester

I'd rather have Kluber/Tulo/Trout. The only thing that would give me pause is Tulo heading to the DL for an extended length of time but Tulo > Abreu, Trout > Cutch and Kluber is still awesome even if Archer might be a little awesomer. You're not upgrading your SP enough to downgrade at the other positions.

I agree with all of that - and to add - you also hope Tulo is by traded away from Coors as well as not getting hurt.

Yeah my greatest fear is having Tulo get hurt and/or having a major drop of in offensive production being traded away from Coors.

You're talking to the wrong person here...I am a Tulo owner from about 2008-2014 that always tried to get the over-the-top elite SS and lived through half-season injuries. I agree with twirly that I probably wouldn't make the trade.

The nice thing about my line up is I am sorta prepared for the Tulo injury bug. Hanley is SS & OF eligible and I still have Reyes.

However, all 3 of those guys are injury prone so having the depth is nice just in case of injuries.

If you need pitching why are you giving up pitching in the deal? Just trade Tulo or another hitter for a SP.

I can't keep Kluber past this year and he doesn't want Lester

And I offered Tulo for Archer --- he declined.

Is this a keeper league? If so, build with Springer.

Kinda depends where you are and what the scoring is (5x5?). I play in leagues with OPS, so while Gomez is still a top-flight guy, I'd prefer Springer anyways. I also don't value closers that much, but I'm in a league that skews to SP...so I'd take the Springer side but it does become a bit fair since Gomez/Carrasco have keeper value and I don't care too much for part-time closers.

When Springer first came up to the big leagues I didn't believe the hype - but man was I wrong. He constantly is hitting line drivers all over the field. He is a type of fantasy player you can build your team through. He'll get a lot of runs, sb's, HR & i think he'll hit about .300
