Its unfortunate the defense now is so inept too. SABR.org said last night that the single by Kemp would not have scored the run from second if it was hit to any other outfielder in baseball. The subsequent Upton ball was hammered. A couple curves he threw were hung pretty bad too. Either way the results were very encouraging.

I didn't care about the exact number of runs scored, i just mainly wanted to see what his stuff looked like.

He certainly has a strong enough fastball and the curve is there, it was mainly just his change which seemed to need more work. His fastball was 93-95, but his change sat at 87-89. Not a big difference in speed and it rarely had the downward dive like most pitchers with a refined change have. He's young though and has plenty of time to work on that pitch. Maybe K-Rod could offer some advice.

He also has a slider he has worked on but didnt throw. The change is more of a hard change and absolutely needs refining. Its literally as simple as loosening his finger pressure a little. His FB, CV and the movement are really enticing.

Another good outing for Davies by the looks of things.

*Still hoping to finish in the top 5*

If only he got to face half a minor league lineup in the best pitchers park in the majors every game.

A's and Rockies win, Brewers lose. Rinse and repeat please. Could still end up anywhere from 4th to 7th in the draft. Brewers own the draft tiebreaker (previous season's record) with the A's but not the Rockies or Marlins.

Stark's end-of-season awards are a disgrace. Giving Latos (3.54 FIP, 1.3 WHIP, 11 hr's) a Cy Yuk ahead of Garza and Lohse should be grounds for dismissal.

Lose and we have the 5th pick. Win and we need the A's to win too in order to have the 5th.

Hoping for a good showing from Lopez, and a blown save from K-Rod.

Top 5 is nice. Should have been top 3 though. Now to look forward to seeing what Stearns does in his first offseason.
