At this point in time, I'm still a bit stunned they went Boyer. Given that, I am most in favor of a Cappy and Pena pairing (given Pena's age and potential flexibility).

He needed to develop his changeup and for some reason, the Brewers never made him. He had a decent one in Wisconsin but only threw it maybe 3 times a game. If they had made him throw it 15-20 times a game, regardless of results, he'd probably be much better now.

It'll be interesting to see how long it is. I think he was a longshot to hit his vesting option anyways, but if he misses 3-4 starts, that's the nail in the coffin and his contract essentially ends after 2017 and the 2018 option doesn't pick up. Hopefully it isn't long-term so we can try to milk some value out of him as a trade piece.

The Brewers never made him? Just because the results were not there, doesn't mean they didn't try.
