Bronson Arroyo is pitching for the Reds tonight? What year is it?

Arroyo's 83 mph junk balls will either baffle our hitters or we'll tee off for like 9 runs in 3 innings. I'll bet the latter.

Billy Hamilton generates a run by himself at has two catches up against the wall in 1.5 innings.

Twirly is super jealous of how hard the Reds are tanking having Arroyo in their rotation.

Anyone hear anymore on this Braun to LA thing? Too bad Puig got off to such a hot start. Would think he's off the table now.

This lineup with Aguilar, Thames, Villar, Braun, Shaw, Santana, Broxton, Pina, etc. is too good to blow up this early in the season unless Lewis Brinson is ready!

I am excited for a (hopefully) full season of Santana. One of my biggest disappointments from last year is that he couldn't stay healthy enough to see what he could do with regular playing time.

Love it.

We beat the Cubs by having Maddon basically tank extra innings by keeping Montgomery in way too long, beat a Toronto team that couldn't possibly be worse on offense right now and might be legitimately bad on offense (seriously, they might have like 3 above average offensive players in their lineup at this point) and what might as well be a 10 year old girl pitching to us in Arroyo tonight.

We're still not good. The same will be said if we manage to win the next 3 against Cincinnati because they're worse than we are.

I mean seriously, if our catchers continue to OPS over .900 and our 1B over 1.000 and Santana at .900 and Anderson, Perlata and Nelson combine to have a 1.46 ERA throughout the season like they do now then we'll be good. None of that seems likely to happen though.

Bullpen looks really good and I'm liking the lineup, I think they're going to be better than you are giving them credit. Not expecting much but wouldn't surprise me if we are above .500 at seasons end

Im with twirly. I think the early wins are fools gold. The pen looks great but the starters will normalize. Chase Anderson isnt going to pull 8 scoreless regularly.

It wouldn't be all that shocking if they wound up being mediocre again. They have been adding talent. Even the rotation has talent that is capable of putting some good outings together. Bullpens are a crap shoot.

Don't get me wrong, I dont' think they have a good chance of being a playoff team this year at all. But why would it be shocking that they aren't bottom of the league bad?

What Im seeing though from the pitching I dont think sustains. Its an eye test thing for me. I thought Guerra and Davies would carry this team to be formidable and I bet on the offense. You dont honestly think Anderson and Peralta pitch like this all season do you?

No, I don't think Wily and Anderson pitch like top of the line guys. But I've always believed the offense would be good and we'd have some success out of no where in the BP like we always do. .500 seemed like an optimistic but attainable season.
