He hasn't been very good, hitters hitting .306 against him this year. They paid him based on last year when he hasn't had an era under 4 in 5 years. He can still turn it around, but it was a desperate signing. Same thing with Nolasco "you finally had a good year, take all our money."

I dont know, I guess that's the going rate for anybody with a pulse.

Are you talking about Hughes new contract since it only added million to his salary this year? He has no been 'ace' like this year.

guy like Hughes I'd try to stick to 2 year contracts, but he's here till 2020 for better or worse
