2017 Twins Draft

Post#1 » by Seeya Monday » Tue Jun 13, 2017 2:14 pm

1 (1) -- Royce Lewis, SS, Jserra Catholic HS (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.)
"Lewis is the big high-upside bat in the high school ranks. He has plus speed but won’t stay at shortstop; center field is his most likely landing spot." - Keith Law

CB Round A (35) -- Brent Rooker, OF, Mississippi State
"Rooker simplified his swing this spring and has produced video-game numbers in the powerful SEC, but he’ll turn 23 in November, making him older than at least four players currently in the big leagues, and has no position other than (maybe) first base." - Keith Law

2 (37) -- Landon Leach, RHP, Pickering HS (Ontario, Canada)
"The 6-foot-4 right-hander throws 91-93 mph heat along with a hard slider, but the fastball is very straight and his arm is late relative to his landing leg." - Keith Law

It's hard to know much about the MLB draft, I'm not watching any HS or college baseball. It seems like we passed on the big name pitchers, but in general I'd prefer a HS hitter at a prime position when drafting this high, so I'm not too disappointed.
