3/9 Yanks (0-3) vs O's (3-0): What me Worry?

The beauty of baseball is how it is a "situational" sport. It's not directly confrontational like NFL. It's not individual as basketball. It's decision making basis...

Based on those decisions, a result can make you appear weaker than you are, or conversely stronger than you are.

Where are the Yanks right now? I think they're fine. Believe it or not, they faced a superior team in the Rays who are just all around younger, deeper, and cheaper...credit that to the scouting on that franchise BUT...

BUT....they haven't won a WS yet. They sucked for the better part of their existence to stockpile top picks. If any Yankee fan complains, by all means ask Knicks fans how long THAT franchise has been rebuilding for...since 1973. Winning is NOT guaranteed not even in New York.

How much should we believe? Well don't believe the Yanks are that feeble or you can buy that the O's are THAT good.

Match ups:

Nova v. Matusz

Garcia v. Chen

Sabbathia v. Arrieta

Meanwhile, the Rays face Detroit. NOW, what if the Rays get swept and BOTH Yanks and Rays are 3-3? What will the doubters say? AGAIN, MLB is a different sport. Play the league NOT one team in a war of attrition....

Why aren't you talking about how terrible Jeter is?

Jeter found the fountain of youth today. It's all going to come down to how much rest Joe gives the players

Pretty decent start by Super Nova. 10 hits in 7 innings but zero walks

Horrible base running by Nunez.

Good stuff by Nova, good control and battled through any issues. Definitely shows how meaningless Spring Training is, if there's any pitcher I'm not worried about it's this guy.

Yea what did Jeter hit last season? ;)

I am happy for Nova but I do not put too much stock pitching against the O's. I need to see more like by July if he has that pin point control. It was a odd performance. He K'd 7 guys but gave up 10 hits...

For now, I will enjoy the win.

Jeter hit .297 with a slugging of .388 and an OPS Plus of 97.

Yankees payed Jeter 15 million dollars to put up league average #'s last year. The average player made 3 million last year. So the Yankees paid Jeter 5 times more to put up the same numbers.

The major concern is that Jeter has zero bat speed anymore and has turned into a singles hitter.

but he had no walks, and that is great, you want them to put the ball in play to give your defense a chance...

Yea but 10 hits from the O's is something you definitely don't want to live by...against bottom feeders like the O's who have no pitching, you can live with it.

During Freddy Garcia night, I'll wear my Che Guevara t-shift. Y'know cause much how Ozzie insulted A-Rod and Nomar telling them they know nothing about Latin America, he obviously knows a lot about Cuba Americans...You're a long ways from Chicago, Ozzie. (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Welcome to the big league kid.

Jeter with a homerun. Swisher with a wall banger double.

Even Cano hit the ball hard but hit it right at Jones.

Teix the rally killer.

Garcia is awful tonight. Good thing we squander rally's against rookie pitchers.

seriously, F THIS UMP. Pitch well below Jeters knees gets called for a strike. Joe just sits there.
