A-Rod drops lawsuit, won't attend spring training

Post#1 » by VirginiaKnickFan » Fri Feb 7, 2014 10:58 pm

Alex Rodriguez dropped his lawsuit against Major League Baseball Friday. Rodriguez sued MLB and its players union in January in an attempt to overturn his 162-game ban, plus any 2014 postseason games, for taking banned substances and twice trying to obstruct the investigation.

A-Rod filed his lawsuit two short days after arbitrator Fredric Horowitz shortened the penalty from the orignial 211-game suspension. The suit accused the MLB Players Association of "bad faith" and alleged the union breached its "duty of fair representation." It also alleges the MLB and MLBPA imposed the suspension without just cause. A-Rod and his lawyers asked to have the ban thrown out.

Alex is the only player actually hated by the player's union.

Remember back in 2004, Kevin Brown pitched and got his 200th win. Physically he looked imposing. Similarly, Alex is a walking bag of glass. He'll never have a comeback season because he plays the field and too many surgeries.
