Yankees designate Alfonso Soriano

Busy day for the Yankees. Goodbye again to Alfonso Soriano. He was a very good Yankee last year and especially pre-ARod trade. Was terrible this year though. It will be nice to hopefully see some younger blood getting a few AB's here and there.

Sad to see him go, ironically, moments before the Yanks dropped him, I dropped him from my fantasy team

Yea, the Yankees were hoping he'd be the Ruben Sierra of the team (second stint). Soriano always had a wild swing. He'd get away with that because his speed and strength would offset his horrible pitch selection. Well it's not enough anymore.
